Dear friends, Greeting for this New Year.
I guess you are already looking at the calendar and planning your
involvements for the coming year. I would like to let you know about
our Open Day on Sunday 12th February 2012. It would be great if
you could come along and enjoy the talks and demonstrations along
with a delicious morning tea. You may have friends or colleagues
who would like to come and be part of the morning. We do encourage
people to attend for the full time - from 10am to 1pm. Further details
are set out below. The upcoming
workshop Transforming the "dark emotions": Grief,
Fear, Anger and Despair has attracted a lot of interest.
I did mention this workshop in my previous newsletter. This Workshop

Level
One Training
in Transpersonal and Emotional Release Counselling
over an 18 month time frame
For the first time Journeylines is considering offering the
Level One training in Transpersonal and Emotional Release Counselling
over an 18month time frame. This is in response to a number of interested
persons enquiring as to the possibility of this.
Usually the program runs over 12months – however we are aware
that the 18 month time frame may make the Level One accessible for
those that have found the 12 month time frame impossible due to
work commitments.
You have been sent this information because either you have attended
workshops or expressed interest in training at Journeylines, or
you may have completed some training and be in a position to pass
this information on to others you think may be both interested and
suitable.
Attached is important information for you to look through
if you are interested in the training program.
1. Training dates (these are currently a little flexible –
if you are keen to train, and a date clashes with something that
would prevent your attending, let us know immediately and we will
see if a change can be made). By 20th January the dates are not
changeable.

2. Entrance criteria. This includes attending pre-requisite days
prior to acceptance into the program – some of these days
must be completed with Journeylines so that we can assess your capacity
for the training.

A workshop series for psychologists, social workers, counsellors,
guidance officers, child care professionals and parents –
for those who work and live with people.
Workshop
1 Transforming the “Dark Emotions”: Grief, fear, anger
and despair
led
by Lynette Fox
Many of us experience situations in which we come face-to-face
with the “dark emotions” in young people and adults.
This can be very challenging in our workplace, family or community
life. Often we are left feeling inadequate because of our inability
to understand and deal with these emotions skillfully. The effect
of this can be quite devastating.
How do we honour the basic emotions that are an inevitable part
of every life - grief, fear, anger and despair? In this workshop
participants will:
- Explore these powerful, and for large portions of the community,
frightening emotions and their potential for developing strength,
resilience, hope and joy for living
- Experience what it means to ‘be with’ these dark
emotions authentically and mindfully
- Investigate techniques which facilitate the transformation of
the “dark emotions”
- Develop a capacity to authentically and mindfully feel these
emotions in your own life. As practitioners we cannot demonstrate
trust in these emotions without experiencing their transformative
potential ourselves.
DATES: January 21 & 22, 2012
TIMES: Sat 8:30am – 4pm & Sun 9am – 4pm
FEES: $350 (includes: GST, morning/afternoon teas, a light lunch)

Your ATERC Annual General Meeting was held last
Monday (December 5th). Business of the AGM includes
the election of Management Committee according to the requirements
of the NSW Associations Act. The new Managment Committee are:
